Circle the National Triangle

Our newest tour starts Saturday 7 October. Join the waitlist here, or email us if you want this to become a regular tour.

How well do you know Canberra’s National Triangle? Did you know it was part of Marion Mahony Griffin and Walter Burley Griffins’ plans for Canberra as part of the international design competition?

But why a triangle? And what will the Ngurra precinct be?

Find out from our guest speakers who will explain stories behind many national collecting and cultural institutions, and other important buildings and structures along the route.

We’ll start outside the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies on the Acton peninsular, and make our way along the north side of the central basin, before finishing with a loop around Australia’s Parliament House.

This tour covers buildings including: the AITSIS, National Museum, Carillon, National Gallery, High Court, Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Treasury, and the National Archives. Learn about gardens, sculptures, and more.
